Did you know that as a senior you qualify for discounts on your utility bills?
As I was opening my mail today I opened several bills that were extremely high. I said to myself “Do our clients receive bills that are this high?” I started to do some research and found several sites that offer senior discounts on utility bills.
1. Georgia Power
Ø Senior Citizens Discount: Georgia Power customers 65 years of age or older with a combined income of less than $24,280 may qualify to receive up to a $24 discount each metered month.

2. Clayton County Water Authority
Ø CCWA’s Senior Citizen Discount Program provides qualified seniors with up to a $5 discount on their monthly bill ($2.50 off water and $2.50 off sewer). Eligibility for the program is administered by Clayton County Community Services Authority, Inc. (CCCSA).
To be eligible for this program, customers:
· Must be 65 or older
· Have a household income of $25,000 or less
· Must show proof of residency, age, and income

3. City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management
Senior Citizens may be eligible for a 30% discount on water and sewer bills. Eligibility requirements:
· 65 years or older. must provide a birth certificate, driver’s license or other valid Georgia ID.
· Have a maximum yearly income of $25,000 or less. must provide proof of income, such as previous or current year Federal Income Tax Form 1040 or 1099.
· Be the primary titleholder or leaseholder on the property subject to the bill. You must provide proof of residency, such as a warranty deed or lease agreement.
· Must be a City of Atlanta water and sewer customer. If you do not receive your water and sewer bill directly from the City of Atlanta, you cannot receive the senior citizen discount.
· To obtain a Senior Discount Application via mail, contact the Department of Watershed Management Customer Service Division at 404-546-0311. Applications are also available at Fulton County Senior Citizen Facilities, City of Atlanta recreation facilities and the Customer Service Office at 55 Trinity Avenue, 1st Floor, City Hall.
